When most people think of military training, they picture sprawling bases with large simulation rooms and racks of equipment. In reality, training doesn’t just happen in fixed facilities—it happens wherever operators need to prepare for fast-changing missions. Over the past decade, defense training and simulation systems have become indispensable. They let teams rehearse missions, test responses, and strengthen coordination without the costs or risks of live exercises. Yet despite these advances, one barrier has remained: mobility.
Traditional setups rely on bulky towers, heavy displays, and tangled cables. They require multiple people to move and hours to assemble, limiting where and when training can happen. For organizations tasked with preparing operators in the field, this is a major constraint. Our customer, a European defense training provider, wanted to break free from those limitations. They envisioned a rugged portable workstation that could deliver immersive, panoramic graphics yet be light enough for a single operator to carry and set up anywhere—from classrooms to forward operating environments.
